MAJORS FIELD DESCRIPTION
THINK YOU'RE TOO OLD TO SKYDIVE?
And for those that get addicted to the constant thrill of skydiving decade after decade, this video is from the Skydivers Over Sixty (SOS) record in July 2018. 75 people all over the age of 60 linking up in one formation in the ultimate display of disciplined teamwork. This could be you some day!
We operate out of Majors Field, a former WWII military training base. The field hosts the 645th US Air Force unit and a variety of large military aircraft including frequent visits from Air Force One. It features a two mile long concrete runway with control tower. When other drop zones with grass strips are shut down because of recent rain, we keep flying.
SKYDIVING THE CLOUDS
We are located east of Dallas, just off Interstate 30. We train skydivers in the heated lodge and depart from Majors Field. After a 20 minute climb to 2 miles above the ground you exit the aircraft and freefall at 120 miles per hour. The parachute ride lasts for about 5 minutes with a landing at the lodge next to your family and friends. The lodge has plenty of room for spectators and there are refrigerators and grills on the back porch for parties. The more the merrier! Please bring your friends and family to watch your training and freefall experience. Kids welcome!
